Insurance restoration, commercial building, residential housing and remodeling is what makes VanDam and Krusinga unique in the Restoration/Contracting Industry. In 1962, Dick VanDam and Roy Krusinga started VanDam and Krusinga, a company specializing in Insurance Restoration. As the company grew, Roy took responsibility for production and crews in the field, and Dick handled estimating and administration. To streamline the estimating, Dick developed a manual estimating system that took each room, detailing specific repairs needed and spelling out for the insured and the insurance adjuster exactly what was needed, to restore the building to its original condition.

In the early 1980's, as the computer age approached, Dick was able, with the help of his son-in-law Tom, to take Dick's manual estimating system and create software for it. This gave VanDam and Krusinga the first fully computerized unit priced estimates in our region, further streamlining the estimate process, which allowed them to give quick service to the customer and adjuster.

As VanDam and Krusinga's reputation grew, they became the company of choice for more than just insurance companies. Satisfied customers, who knew of VanDam and Krusinga's quality of work, began to ask us to build their new homes and offices, remodel existing homes and buildings.

After Roy's retirement in the late 1980's, Dick ran the business until October of 1996 when Dan Scheffers became the new owner and president. Today VanDam and Krusinga is under new leadership, but proudly follows the footsteps of Dick VanDam and Roy Krusinga.

Material Selection — There are a lot of products to pick out during a remodel or reconstruction project (cabinets, flooring, countertops, etc.). We have simplified the process by building a showroom. All of our products can be selected in one location, saving you time. Our designer will help you choose products, colors and styles that best fit your taste and budget.
